Product Description
Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein composed of identical subunits. Each subunit binds one biotin molecule with an extremely high affinity (KD ~1x10⁻¹⁵ M). This preparation contains a core streptavidin variant, which is an N- and C-terminal truncated form with improved properties, including:

Greater resistance to proteolytic degradation
Improved accessibility of the biotin-binding pocket
