产品介绍The protein encoded by this gene is a surface antigen that is preferentially expressed on monocytes/macrophages. It cooperates with other proteins to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, and to viruses. This gene has been identified as a target candidate in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients to potentially lessen or inhibit a severe inflammatory response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2020]

Function:
Cooperates with MD-2 and TLR4 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MyD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Up-regulates cell surface molecules, including adhesion molecules.

CD14又称内毒素受体,属细胞表面糖蛋白家族成员之一。在机体免疫、防御系统引起的一系列反应中介导细胞识别LPS并引起细胞酪氨酸磷酸化、核因子NF-κB转位、触发细胞因子释放和氧自由基产生。CD14在细胞因子产生的调控方面起重要作用,因而对于CD14结构、功能及其临床意义的研究日益受到重视。
