- Recommended Usage
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunohistochemical staining on frozen tissue sections. For immunohistochemistry, a concentration range of 5.0 - 10.0 ?g/ml is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

- Structure
- Single chain type I transmembrane 58 kd heavily glycosylated protein. N terminal extracellular part consists of two C2 type Ig-like domains which are highly glycosylated. Recently reported: isoform with an additional membrane-distal Ig-like domain.

CD147 is expressed at varying levels in many cells types, including haematopoietic, epithelial, and endothelial cells. Expressed on immature thymocytes and at varying levels on spleen cells , bone marrow cells and macrophages.

- CD147 is implicated in multiple functions, such as matrix metalloproteinase induction, cell adhesion, retinal cell development, HIV attachment, embryonic development and T cell activation.
